It was worth the wait for the machine to travel across the continent!
It’s now installed and waiting to do its first serious job in the next day or two.
Having owned its little brother (a Ledacraft ex Adelaide) since 2011, I was very impressed with the added chunkiness and obvious upgrades in the newer machine. I’ve made a few little improvements like a 50mm mdf tabletop and easier to access knobs to the travel limit stops, plus a brace to the nearby wall from the m/c support column. Like its older sibling, this one still has a tendency to shake a bit even when on very even flooring.
All in all, the mortiser looks like being worth every cent of its price!
