Vale Steve Morris: A Valued Friend, Colleague and Industry Supporter

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our long-time colleague and dear friend, Steve Morris, who passed away on 2 July 2026 after a short and cruel battle with cancer.

Tony Mirabile first met Steve during his time as the National Australian Manager for Stanley Black & Decker. Steve later joined the Beyond Tools team in the mid-2000s and remained a highly valued employee for almost two decades.

A cabinetmaker by trade and a true jack of all trades, Steve had an incredible depth of practical knowledge. He loved demonstrating woodworking tools and machinery, sharing techniques and helping customers find the right solutions for their workshops. His friendly nature and hands-on approach made him a familiar and trusted face within the woodworking community.

Steve was Beyond Tools’ lead machinery salesperson for over a decade. He later stepped into a specialised role supporting educators and school workshops, assisting with the servicing, repair and setup of machinery. His knowledge, patience and willingness to help made him a valued resource for Design and Technology educators across Western Australia.

Many customers and educators may also recognise Steve’s friendly face from our Beyond Tools How-To Videos, where he generously shared his extensive product knowledge and practical experience.

Full of life and always ready with a friendly smile, Steve became an important part of the Beyond Tools family. He shared many special and memorable moments with the Mirabile family and our wider team.

Steve made a lasting contribution to the Design and Technology education sector, as well as the cabinetmaking and woodworking industries. Throughout a career spanning more than 30 years, he built strong relationships and generously supported educators, tradespeople, customers and industry professionals.

Above all, Steve loved his family. His warmth, friendship, knowledge and unmistakable presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, former colleagues and the many people he supported throughout his career.

Rest easy, Steve. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
