Description
The Woodfast BS250C 250mm (10") Variable Speed Bandsaw is the next generation of Woodfast’s popular compact benchtop bandsaw.
It retains the practical size and core cutting capacity of the BS250B while adding electronic variable-speed control, an integrated digital speed display and a new-style mitre gauge. These upgrades give the operator greater control when matching the blade speed to different materials, blade types and cutting applications.
Despite its compact footprint, the BS250C incorporates many features normally associated with larger floor-standing bandsaws. These include a strong steel frame, balanced cast-aluminium bandwheels, a cast-iron worktable, tool-less blade guides and a quick-release blade-tension system.
With a 245mm throat capacity and a maximum cutting height of approximately 120mm, the BS250C is suitable for straight cuts, curved work, small resawing applications, cabinetry, furniture making, craft projects and general timber preparation.
The front-mounted variable-speed control allows the operator to adjust the blade speed using a rotary dial, while the digital display provides a clear visual speed reference. This offers more flexibility than the two fixed blade speeds provided by the earlier BS250B.
A redesigned mitre gauge with a large locking knob and clearly marked angle scale assists with controlled crosscuts and angled work. The adjustable aluminium rip fence features a cam-locking mechanism for quick positioning and accurate straight cutting.
The BS250C can be mounted directly to a suitable workbench or used with the optional Woodfast BS250-OS open stand and compatible mobility kit.

Key Features
Electronic Variable Speed
The BS250C replaces the BS250B’s two fixed blade speeds with electronic variable-speed control. The front-mounted rotary dial allows the operator to adjust the blade speed to suit the material, blade and cutting application.
Digital Speed Display
An integrated digital display provides a convenient visual reference when adjusting the bandsaw’s operating speed.
New-Style Mitre Gauge
The redesigned mitre gauge features a large locking knob, graduated angle scale and adjustable fence for more controlled crosscuts and angled cutting.
Tool-Less Blade Guides
Spring-loaded blade guides can be adjusted quickly without requiring separate tools, helping simplify blade setup and alignment.
Quick-Release Blade Tension
The quick-release lever allows blade tension to be removed when the bandsaw is not being used. This can help reduce blade stretching and unnecessary pressure on the bandsaw tyres.
Cast-Iron Worktable
The cast-iron table provides a strong, stable work surface for supporting timber during straight, curved and angled cuts.
Adjustable Aluminium Rip Fence
The aluminium fence helps guide material during straight cutting and uses a cam-lock mechanism for quick positioning.
Rack-and-Pinion Height Adjustment
The upper blade-guide assembly can be raised or lowered using a rack-and-pinion mechanism to suit the height of the workpiece.
Compact Workshop Design
The BS250C delivers useful workshop capacity without requiring the floor space of a larger bandsaw. It can be bench-mounted or paired with the optional stand.
Suitable Applications
The Woodfast BS250C is suitable for:
- Straight timber cutting
- Curved and shaped cuts
- Small resawing applications
- Furniture and cabinetmaking
- Toy making
- Template and pattern cutting
- Craft and hobby woodworking
- School woodworking workshops
- Home and professional workshops
- Suitable plastics and non-ferrous materials when fitted with the correct blade and operated at an appropriate speed
Always use a blade specifically suited to the material and application. Follow the manufacturer’s operating and safety instructions.
