Features of the PS 33 CK

Devised to work especially well with random orbital sanders, the abrasive disc PS 33 CK by Klingspor has been equipped with hook and loop lamination. Thanks to its dependable hook and loop coating on the back, the disc can be attached by simply pressing it onto the sanding surface of the machine. Thanks to its full-surface attachment, the abrasive disc will stay smoothly and firmly in place. Its exceptional qualities make this abrasive the perfect choice for sanding jobs on

  • varnish,
  • wood and paint as well as
  • filler.

Klingspor makes these abrasive papers available with different diameters and hole patterns to ensure that they will fit on all common sanders. Better still, the available abrasive discs without holes also offer universal compatibility. However, abrasive papers without holes do not allow for connection to a dust extraction system.

Klingspor abrasive disc with a high removal rate

Klingspor abrasive papers PS 33 CK come with an aluminium oxide grain that has been applied with a semi-open coating. Synthetic aluminium oxide is set apart by its great hardness and toughness. These properties allow the abrasive disc to deliver a high removal rate and a long service life. Grains composed of aluminium oxide have irregular shapes ranging from wedges to blocks. Thanks to their crystalline characteristics, aluminium oxide abrasives are guaranteed to produce efficient results. The semi-open coating of the grain is ideal for treating surfaces made up of varnish as well as wood and paint. This coating creates spaces between the grains that are large enough to allow for an efficient discharge of abrasive debris and dust. This keeps residue from settling between the grains and, as a result, supports a long service life.

Synthetic resin bond on a paper backing (C-paper) for a vast area of applications

The foundation of the abrasive disc PS 33 CK by Klingspor is formed by a paper backing (C-paper). The paper used for this backing is of medium weight, making it easy to cut, tear and bend the paper. This flexibility allows the user to bend or tear these abrasive papers and use them for hand sanding wherever random orbital sander cannot handle hard-to-reach places. The aluminium oxide grains are bonded to the paper backing with synthetic resin and coated with an extra synthetic resin top size coat. Aside from giving the abrasive paper its colour, this size coat provides additional support against the lateral forces that act on the grain during sanding. The synthetic resin layer coating the grain will automatically wear off at the beginning of sanding and not affect abrasive performance in any way.

Features of the PS 33 BK

One key advantage of the abrasive disc PS 33 BK by Klingspor is the straightforward attachment to the sander thanks to its hook and loop backing. This backing makes it a cinch to attach these abrasive discs to sanders that also possess a hook and loop backing pad and provides for a strong connection thanks to the flexible barbs. This hook and loop attachment ensures that the abrasive disc is always positioned flat and straight. The PS 33 BK is always the right choice for sanding on

  • varnish,
  • wood and paint as well as
  • filler.

These discs are made available in different sizes as well as with and without a hole pattern because Klingspor carries the matching dimension for all common sanders. The product also comes with a wide selection of grit sizes to allow for the best possible processing of the various materials.

Aluminium oxide with a semi-open coating – abrasive disc for various applications

The material of the abrasive grain is of key importance to stock removal during sanding. Today’s abrasives are coated with synthetic grains that are particularly durable and efficient and offer the added advantage of being available in different degrees of hardness and toughness. The grain is made of aluminium oxide, an abrasive grain that is exceedingly hard and tough. Aluminium oxide is marked by its crystalline characteristics and irregular shapes, which allow for a high removal rate. The grit is applied with a semi-open coating, which makes it ideal for sanding varnish as well as wood and paint. The greater chip clearance created by this coating allows the abrasive dust to dissipate, keeping it from accumulating and ultimately clogging the abrasive disc PS 33 BK. This quality contributes to an extended service life of the abrasive disc.

Abrasive disc PS 33 BK on a paper backing (B-paper) with synthetic resin bond

The PS 33 BK is based on a paper backing (B-paper) and ideally suited for surface sanding applications. The B-paper can be cut to size, torn off an bent with ease, making this abrasive disc equally suitable for hand sanding in hard-to-reach places if no abrasive paper is handy that is designed specifically for that purpose. The synthetic resin bond contributes to the reliable anchoring and embedding of the grain. The grain is first bonded to the paper backing of the abrasive disc PS 33 BK before being coated with a synthetic resin top size coat resin. This coat keeps the grains firmly and securely in place. The synthetic resin will wear off from the surface of the grains during initial use.

Features of the PS 73 BWK

The abrasive disc PS 73 BWK by Klingspor is sure to produce perfect results on varnish, wood and paint as well as filler. This abrasive is marked by its

  • high removal rate,
  • reduced clogging and
  • significantly extended service life.

It is also available in very fine grit sizes. Moreover, Klingspor also offers this abrasive disc without holes and in a variety of hole patterns. The models with holes are available with the hole patterns GLS 1, GLS 3, GLS 47, and GLS 51.

The PS 73 BWK – a self-fastening paper backing (B-paper) with a semi-open coating of aluminium oxide

The Klingspor abrasive disc PS 73 BWK is self-fastening, making it ideal for use on handheld sanders with hook and loop backing pads. Its backing is composed of a B-weight paper, which is relatively light, yet sufficiently robust. The abrasive grain used is aluminium oxide, which is applied with a semi-open coating. This coating leaves behind enough space to allow for a swift discharge of the debris, keeping the abrasive disc from clogging. Aluminium oxide is hard and tough. Allowing for a high removal rate, this material ensures a sanding result of excellent quality. Just as all other grains Klingspor uses for their abrasives, this grain is the product of a synthetic manufacturing process. This process ensures consistent quality.

The surface – a top size coat composed of synthetic resin and added active agent coating

All abrasives sold under the Klingspor brand are treated with a synthetic resin top size coat. Distinguished by strong bonding force, this coat anchors the grain firmly to the base coat and supports the grain against the lateral forces that act on it. What is more, a top size coat made of synthetic resin is ultra strong. These properties yield the dual advantage of an extended service life and enhanced abrasive performance. The abrasive disc PS 73 BWK is furthermore coated with an active agent. Improving service life even further, this agent lets the user finish a large number of workpieces with this premium abrasive designed for paint, varnish, and filler.
