Description
312 "universal" series weld-all style electrodes (welding rods) for high-strength and crack-resistant welding of almost any steel or stainless-steel, including dissimiliar metals. Ideal for; Unknown steels, Dissimilar steels (eg steel to stainless), Die or tool steel, etc. (Not recommended for cast iron). Classification E312-16.
KEY FEATURES:

- All positional, except vertical-down
- Smooth arc, low spatter, excellent slag control/detachability, and high-quality weld appearance
- Easy to use & suitable for low OCV (open circuit voltage) welding machines (>45V)
APPLICATION INFO:
- Deposits 29% Cr / 9% Ni stainless steel type filler metal
- High strength & excellent resistance to hot cracking even under conditions of high dilution
- Commonly used for repair and maintenance welding of unknown &/or dissimilar steels
- Mild steel to stainless-steel
- Die or tool steel
- Suitable as a buffer layer prior to hard facing
- NOT recommended for cast iron
OPERATING INFO:
- All welding positions, excluding vertical down
- Polarity: DC+ or AC+ (electrode +)
- Minimum recommended OCV (open circuit voltage): 45V
- Avoid high / excessive current
- Use straight "stringer" bead (rather than weave) technique
